Selecting Objects

Objects can be selected by either left-clicking them, dragging a selection box around them, or clicking on the object's layer in the Layers panel.

To select multiple objects at a time, hold down shift while selecting them, or drag a selection box around the objects you wish to select.

Moving Objects

Once selected, an object can be moved either by dragging it, or using the arrow keys on your keyboard. For smaller movements, use the shift key and arrow keys at the same time. (Please note that the position of label borders is locked and cannot be moved this way)

Resizing Objects

Once selected, an object can be resized using the resize controls in the corners of each object, or by using the scale slider in the tools panel to perform uniform scaling. (Please note that text must be resized using the font size option in the Text Options panel)

Rotating Objects

Once selected, an object can be rotated using the floating rotate control that appears above each object.

Deleting Objects

Once selected, an object can be deleted by clicking the Delete button to the right of that object.

Duplicating Objects

Once selected, an object can be duplicated by clicking the Duplicate button at the bottom of the Layers panel.

Object Snapping

When object snapping is enabled, objects will snap to the edges and centers of each other as show by green guide lines. Purple guide lines will also appear when an object snaps to the vertical and horizontal centers of the label. Object snapping can be turned off by unchecking the Object Snapping option at the top of the label workspace.

Sizes & Dimensions

The size of your label can be changed within the Label Size & Shape panel in the right toolbar. Select a size from our list of Size Presets, or enter your own custom dimensions by selecting the Custom Size option. Please be sure to choose a label size that fits your intended bottles.

Label Shapes

The default label shape is Rectangle, however there are a variety of other shapes available within the Label Size & Shape panel on the right toolbar. When changing to a new label shape, label borders are automatically converted to follow the new shape. (Please note that border insetting is only supported for rectangle and ellipse labels)

Bleed & Die Line

Your design includes an additional 1/16" inch on each edge of the label which is represented by a dashed cut line, or die line. The area outside of this die line is called the bleed, and it acts as a safety area for when the label is trimmed since the label can sometimes shift slightly during the cutting. Images and graphics that extend to the edges of your design should fill this area completely to ensure the best print result.

Browsing Color Palettes

LabelMaker Pro features a powerful palette system for dynamically recoloring your label design. Click the Browse button within the Label Colors/Palettes panel on the right toolbar to preview your label design in hundreds of palette options.

Palette Variations

Each palette is available in four different variations, and each variation changes the order that the palette's colors are applied to your design. To try a different variation, click the swatch flag either in the Label Colors/Palettes panel, or next to each palette option in the browse menu.

Swatch Assignments

The palette system assigns a color swatch to each of your elements based on type, position, and style, however once selected you may wish to make further changes to some of your object's color assignments. You can assign a different swatch position, or a different color entirely to each of your objects using the color pickers in the Tools menu. Feel free to make further changes to your design's colors until everything looks just right.

Selecting Objects

Each object in your design is represented by a tile within the Layers Panel on the left side of the editor. Selecting any object in your design is as simple as clicking on its associated tile, even if that object is below another object on your label's layer order. Multiple objects can be selected at a time by holding down the shift key while selecting tiles from the layers panel. (Please note that label borders can only be selected one at a time)

Layer Order

Tiles within the layers panel are listed from highest to lowest, where objects in the higher positions are drawn above objects in the lower positions. The layer order of your objects can be changed by simply dragging a tile to a new position within the layers panel.

Eye Dropper

Each object's tile include a swatch showing the color of that object. To copy a color from one object to another, simply select the object you wish to recolor, then click on the swatch from another object's tile.

Object Visibility

An object can be hidden or made visible by clicking on the Eye Icon within that object's tile.

Our AI writing assistant is a powerful tool that allows you to generate new text or edit your existing text with the help of generative AI.

Start by selecting any text object within your label design. With the object selected, click the AI Edit button to open the AI assistant. You will then find the following options:

Change Tone

Select a tone/writing style from the dropdown menu, and our AI Assistant will rewrite your existing text content in the tone that you select (e.g. funny, professional, casual, etc.).

Change Length

Select from the Change length dropdown menu to have our AI Assistant attempt to rewrite your existing text to be either shorter or longer, either by summarizing/reducing the length of your content, or expanding on it while still following the original meaning of your content.

Generate New Content

Choose the Generate new content option to provide our AI Assistant with even more direction. A prompt box will then appear that will allow you enter specific instructions for the AI to follow. Custom prompts will allow our AI to generate completely new text content for your label, or edit your existing text according to your instructions.

• Creating New Content - Use the custom prompt field to enter a description of the text you'd like to generate. Examples below.
• e.g. Write a short birthday message for my dad Henry. He's turning 60, likes to fish, and loves wine. Make it funny and sincere.
• e.g. Write a description for my new wine called Harvest Red. It's a blend of Cab Franc and Syrah made with grapes grown in Mendocino County, CA.
• Editing Existing Content - Uncheck the Ignore existing text option if you'd like the AI to rewrite your existing text according to the instructions in your prompt. Examples below.
  • e.g. Translate my text into French.
  • e.g. Improve my grammar and spelling.

Accepting Changes

Before our AI Assistant makes any text changes to your design, a dialog will be displayed for you to review the changes.

You can then choose the Accept Changes option to apply the changes to your design, Try Again to have the AI make generate another version using the same instructions, or close the review box to try something else.

For the best user experience, we recommend using the Google Chrome web browser on a PC or Mac platform. Mobile devices are also supported, however please be aware that the smaller screen size of tablets and particularly smartphones will make the interface more difficult to work with.
